Killina Presentation Secondary School is steeped in the ethos of the Presentation Order and thankfully that link remains strong as we aspire to the ideals of the CEIST Charter. Our mission statement promotes inclusion while placing a strong emphasis on respect
Our school, is a co-educational post-primary voluntary secondary school. A comprehensive academic curriculum is promoted in addition to a wide-ranging programme of extra-curricular activities.
We provide a high quality education to all of our students and we encourage students to do their best and achieve both individually and as a team. Our unique rural setting also facilitates the involvement of the local Rahan community and this is a relationship that we will continue to foster and encourage.
At Killina Presentation, we promote excellence through a a holistic approach to education. The values of respect, friendship and hard work are key to the success of the school. Our teaching staff are dedicated and committed going beyond the call of duty to encourage students and ensure that students achieve their very best. We are also proud of our students who achieve in both curricular and extra-curricular spheres both locally and nationally.
“Mol an Óige agus Tiocfaidh Sí” underpins our approach to education and positive reinforcement of our students forms the cornerstone of the positive relationships that exist within our school. Parental involvement in all aspects of our development is an essential part of our school life. Parents are represented on the Board of Management and there is a vibrant Parents’ Association. Equally, the student voice is represented by the elected members of the student council.
We are very proud of our academic success in the Leaving and Junior Certificate examinations. The school recognises students for their high academic achievement in both Junior and Leaving Certificate at the annual Academic Excellence Awards and also School Awards afternoon which recognizes achievement in all areas of school life.
I look forward to working with you
