20th March 2018
As part of our new transition year module of geography, we are involved in a national project which is known as Challenge to Change lead by the Presentation Sisters. This project is undertaken by students from both secondary and primary schools across the country. The class of Ty1 under the guidance of Ms.Nolan have decided to base the project on Rural Decline/Urban Development. The entire class feels strongly about this topic and are looking forward to learning more about this issue. We are going to research closures of local post offices, garda stations, banks and also the lack of players for some G.A.A. clubs. Following on from that we looking at the overpopulation in cities like Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) .
To get the project under way the class was divided into committees. The following committees have been drawn up and there are up to 4 members in each , research, poster, blog, fundraising, raising awareness and education committee. Each of these committees have important roles to play in this project and are essential for the success of our project.
