County Final Student Enterprise Awards 2018

March 8th 2018 County Final Student Enterprise Awards 2018 :

In September 2017, TY1 and TY2, began their journey of the 'Enterprise at Schools Programme', in conjunction with Offaly Enterprise Board, with their teachers Mrs. Hall and Ms. Nolan.

This programme runs from September to the middle of Januaryeach year.

We have very enterprising students in Killina Presentation Secondary School and had 11 mini-companies this academic year.  Students held various sales day both in school and also in Tullamore Library and the Bank of Ireland Branch in December 2017.

Four of these eleven mini-companies went onto represent their school at the County Final of the Student Enterprise Awards, in the Tullamore Court Hotel on March 8th 2018.

All participating students received a merit award but, one of these mini-companies received a special merit recognition award for their product.  This award went to 'Pebble Pictures'.  They successfully designed and manufactured wonderful framed pictures, comprising of pebble people in different scenes.  

Mrs. Hall ordered a special one, depicting herself and her students, along with an infamous caption; 'Geography is all around us'.  This will take pride of place in the new extension to our school.

Another mini-company that also achieved success is 'Eli and I, who won 1st place in this years, Tullamore Credit Union competition; 'Face the Phoenix'.
